Dangers of genome editing

The CRISPR genome editing method allows to precisely knock out certain genes that are responsible for the susceptibility to certain illnesses.

This could in theory make humans immune to diseases but any manipulation of the genetic material can bring potential side effects that can be passed on to further generations.
